2D Mega Man Level v1 Feedback

Level v1 Feedback

  • What went right?
  • The players went the directions I wanted them too. Especially with some difficulty that I would hope the players would lose to respond at least once. It was long enough for the players to explore all the map which was what I intended.

  • What went wrong?
  • I think what went wrong is there is a part in the level that the camera goes a little wonky when going to the next room, I tried to work it out as I was making the level but I couldn't find the issue. Which did annoy me on how it was transitioning and even the players comment on it.

  • How might you improve your level next time?
  • Improvement I would want to work on is add more places for the players to explore and maybe some secret passage ways. I do want to mess around more with the falling tiles and other resources that the program provides.

  • Were the challenges presented appropriate to the skill level of the player?
  • From the feedback that was given yes, everyone enjoyed the level and they liked the use of different enemies in the level. I made sure to put checkpoints where players will have difficulty in just in case. I made sure not to make it too easy and provide enough pickups to help them along the way or make the decision whether they need the extra help.

  • Was the critical path obvious?
  • Yes, the path is pretty straight forward and I did include arrows to help them through the level, I do think I should have added more arrows since I did forget them towards the end of the level.

  • How was the overall flow?
  • The overall flow was good, players did enjoy the overall layout with the layout, I enjoyed how the once the players were comfortable, they can speed run it which is why I made sure to make the level long enough.

  • Was it obvious where players were supposed to go?
  • yes, there was only one path way for the players to go along with the help of the arrows and the way I positioned the camera to move to make it easier. Some players were going through the level through ease and technically speed run through it
