SimpleDnDMap v3 Feedback
Minimally you must write about:
- Who played your map (Player names and their chosen class)?
- Connor: Ranger
- Chase: Warrior
- What went right?
- nice style
- checkpoints
- two separate ways
- optional rooms
- keys
- Final boss
- What went wrong?
- Not enough enemies
- more items
- bigger map
- escape boss fight
- more interactive
- maybe add more mini bosses
- How did the players respond to the items introduced?
- Pretty good
- good use with the keys
- escaped with the monster
- was pretty straightforward
- easy to find
- checkpoints
Additional items to consider:
- When creating your new level, what did having items do to the way you approached it?
- I was thinking about where would be a good way to make the map not to difficult to navigate and make sure the items were easy to find and get to, along some challenges along the way. There were more objects added to the map, like tables, benches, a mat, some tents and so on. Just to give it a bit more depth and character to the map itself. I wanted to have some items in a room where the players could see that this is a cafeteria along the lines.
- Were the challenges presented appropriate to the moderate nature of the level?
- I think the challenges presented were appropriate, especially having nothing in the beginning besides their fist but working their way to find the items that they need in order to make it through out the map.
- Was the critical path obvious? (Did the players know where to go?)
- The path was obvious, there were two ways to go, but they went through the main one. Which lead to the main boss fight that they had to get passed in order to escape the jail.
- How was the overall flow?
- I think the flow was decent enough, I definitely felt that I could have added more enemies and be more define in how the much the enemies will inflict damage and all that. Especially with the items that are supposed to help with defeating enemies.
- Were there circulation elements?
- Yes, you can go around the map, since there are corridors that connect that the players are able to move in a circular path along the map.
- Was it obvious where players were supposed to go?
- Yes, especially making sure to light the right areas that help them guide them and giving them sneak peaks of some entrances for them to explore and progress through out the map.
- Were all items taught to the players in an appropriate way?
- Yes, I feel I lack a bit in this area since I should have included more enemies for the items to be more useful to the players. But in the end, they were able to use the items given to them.
