Simple DnD Feedback

Minimally you must write about:

  • Who played your map (Player names and their chosen class)?
  • Judith
  • Connor: Mage
  • Chase: Warrior

  • What went right?
  • the simple rules went really now
  • they had fun
  • the finally boss battle went well
  • learning how to use Roll20

  • What went wrong?
  • too short
  • not any enemies
  • not having a theme
  • not as finished as the other ones
  • realizing I had to guide them through the map

  • How will you improve your map?
  • more define items
  • more enemies
  • having a specific theme
  • traps
  • more of a sense of a storyline and adventure throughout the whole map/level
  • understanding the rules a bit better
  • more exploration and creativity

Additional items to consider:

  • Were the challenges presented appropriate to the introductory/tutorial nature of the level?
  • There were two entrances that the characters can start off in, both went in each entrance.
  • There were some obstacles that they had to jump over.
  • Some secret rooms
  • The final boss battle went well
  • collectable items
  • pretty straight forward
  • some time to explore the rest of the level

  • Was the critical path obvious? (Did the players know where to go?)
  • yes, players did know where to go since it was pretty straight forward. There were other rooms they can travel to and explore, which they did once the final battle was over. Along the way, each path lead to the main room where the boss is located.

  • How was the overall flow?
  • Over all the flow seem to go pretty well. I was a bit nervous since I have never played DnD or any type of form of any role playing game. Of course there some improvements to work on but I really learned from the other members on how they made their level and overall how they worked the website.

  • Were there circulation elements?
  • yes there is a circulation element in the level, you can go around the map multiple times, incase people went through the same entrance. The players did go around at least once, just to explore what is around the level and other items to collect.

  • Was it obvious where players were supposed to go?
  • As we were going through the level, the path was obvious on where to go, there were two ways to go, one path just had more items and a secret room.

  • Were all rule mechanics taught to the players in an appropriate way?
  • Yes, I believe for the most the mechanics were taught in an appropriate way. I did have some difficulty since I have never played DnD before but luckliy the people I was with were realy nice and helpful.
